MP & SILVA AWARDED RIGHTS TO DISTRIBUTE UEFA EURO 2016™ IN JAPAN

LONDON 15 December 2014 – MP & Silva, the leading international sports media rights company, has secured a deal for the exclusive rights to distribute the prestigious UEFA Euro 2016™ in Japan for the first time, continuing its winning streak of clinching top-flight football content in the market.

The deal will make MP & Silva the exclusive distributor across media platforms in Japan including television rights across cable, satellite and terrestrial, internet TV, IPTV and mobile. The agreement covers all 51 matches during the tournament as well as daily highlights programs

The agreement with UEFA puts MP & Silva in a leadership position in terms of football rights in Japan and further reinforces the company’s long-term position as the region’s leading sports content provider with a comprehensive portfolio of football distribution rights.

The announcement follows MP & Silva’s recent exclusive agreement in August with UEFA to distribute the media rights in Japan for the European Qualifying matches to the UEFA EURO 2016™ and the 2018 FIFA World Cup™. The European Qualifiers consists of 546 live Matches, of which, 526 are qualification matches and 20 friendly matches.
